|
|
From time to time members ask about TV etc. for the club. The committee have discussed this in detail in the past, for reasons of cost forget about sky and other pay to view. It is a no go as we are talking too much dosh.
A large plasma screen for video viewing of our boats/events/training etc. has been mentioned.
We have a couple of members who like to film on the water and we all like to see the frills and spills afterwards in the bar over a pint. It also has training benefits etc. OK we have a wee TV but what is the general thoughts on a big beast in the lounge with priority on slotting in that tape of the days sailing?
Please give your views either way, at least it will give an indicator! |

| I think it has to be a good thing. The other weekend we took some footage onboard the SB3 doing 17knots, loads of people crammed around my mini camera to have a look. A big screen would be class for such things. During events it would also hold competitors in the bar increasing revenue. Got to be a big thumbs up from me!! A projected screen is probably better though as it can be stored away easily. |

| with a screen up you could also use it to display upcoming events for members and visitors to the club as well as showing still photographs of sailing from members |

| Sounds like a good idea I can supply a photo from last Saturday when Paul recovered a boat. |

| This sounds like a good plan. But maybe a projector and removable screen would be the way forward. I'm thinking less chance of damage. This could also be a cheeper way. |
